On May 15, 2015, my mom and best friend passed away to her spiritual home. That day, I believe heaven received its best angel yet. My mom was everything to me; my biggest supporter, my biggest fan, my rock, my role model, my motivator, my protector, and well, I could go on for days. However, I think the point is obvious. Words will never be able to describe what this woman meant to me as my mom on earth and now what she means to me as one of my most fabulous angels. Even though, at one point, I stopped believing in angels.
As a child, my mother would tell me stories of her interactions with her angels. Our minds are so open as children, so I was always fascinated to hear her speak of her angels. However, as I grew older and societal norms set in, I began moving away from believing in angels. To make matters worse, when my mom died, the anger stage of grief hit me hard. I definitely stopped believing in anything Divine at that point. In reflecting now, though, wow, my anger stage of grief was lengthy! However, my mom was so patient in her approach and never gave up on me.
The first year after her death, I decided to begin celebrating a heavenly birthday with her each year as a way to try to move past my grief. The first couple of times I tried, I am not going to lie, it sucked! I was still very much in mourning and, in hindsight, probably deep into that previously mentioned long anger stage as well. I am sure that at the time, my sadness and grief overshadowed any joy and happiness I had before she died. So, it was not much of a “celebration.” However, again, my mom never gave up on me.
My mom left me a way to know that she would always be in communication with me. When I was younger, she would often tell me that when she found a penny, she knew it was from one of her most prominent angels in heaven, her grandmother. Therefore, when I started finding pennies, I knew she was sending them to comfort me in my darkest times, just like her grandmother did for her.
After she passed, I spiraled into a dark depression. I mean, seriously, I was unraveling more with each passing day. She knew I was in so much pain that I was dangerously on the verge of losing my passion for life itself.
She also knew that sending pennies my way would remind me of my light. During my healing process, I realized that it was Divine communication from her whenever I found a penny. She was letting me know that she could still nurture my wounds as she did so many times before. I would simply need to change my perspective.
With Divine guidance, I did just that, changed my perspective. My Inner Goddess guided me to learn about and develop my own understanding regarding the concept of impermanence. Once I accepted the absence of my mom’s physical presence, my mind began to open and connect to her spiritual presence instead. I went from, “How can I live without my mom? Who will give me motherly advice?” to “I love you too, mom, and am so grateful your spiritual presence surrounds me!” (as a colossal smile gleams across my face).
I started finding pennies everywhere! Joy and happiness returned to my life, and I gained the ability to tune into a frequency of potent spiritual energy anytime I needed to, angel energy. You see, she already knew what I would come to believe anew. Angels do indeed exist, and her angel energy is powerful.
Losing the physical presence of a loved one is extremely difficult. However, a significant belief that brought me to my present joy is the Law of Divine Oneness. I choose to believe every being is connected to God, whether currently living or physically deceased. So even though my mom’s physical body no longer exists, I can still feel her Divine angel energy surrounding and protecting me daily.
This energy comforts me, and I can now really celebrate her heavenly birthdays! As a matter of fact, on April 12, 2019, I celebrated a beautiful heavenly birthday with my mom by dedicating this site’s launch to her memory. I have been celebrating with her since!
As this site develops and evolves, much of the content is inspired by her love, wisdom, and spiritual presence. So, I want to give a loving shout-out to my most phenomenal angel! I know she continues to support, encourage, and protect me. As these butterfly wings continue to grow, I am confident she is proud.
