Release Lower Vibrations With the Waning Gibbous Moon

Lunar Energy

Lunar energy is a powerful tool you can use in your holistic lifestyle approach. The moon teaches us that it is OK to go through phases. Before getting into the waning gibbous moon phase of the cycle, let’s review all of the previous phases that led to this phase:

🌑 We sought guidance during the dark moon.

🌙 We set intentions and created our action plan during the new moon.

🌒 We implemented initial action steps towards our action plan during the waxing crescent moon.

🌓 We reviewed and refined our action plan if needed during the first quarter moon.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🌔 We implemented any amended action steps towards our action plan during the waxing gibbous moon.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🌕 We celebrated the power of manifestation in our lives during the full moon.

🌖 Waning Gibbous Moon~Now, it is time to release bad habits and start replacing them with better habits.

Waning Gibbous Moon

Hopefully, you had a great time celebrating your newfound manifesting power during the full moon. Now that you are using lunar energy to bring new and better in your life, you must make room. Think about it, have you ever started a diet? What is one of the first things you do? Well, let me give you my answer to that question. One of the first things I do is, figure out what I need to be eating, then raid my fridge and pantry. Yep, goodbye, Oreos, Cheetos, and real butter (even though I find ways to sneak real butter back in later).

Anyway, you get the point, right? I had to make room for the new by removing the old, which is what the waning gibbous moon is all about.

With the waning gibbous moon, we are on the other side of halfway through the moon’s cycle. Much of the productive work is before the full moon, which is why we celebrate. However, manifesting work still needs to be completed during this cycle. So even though we celebrated, we also needed to make a choice.

We know what is working for us in our lives and what isn’t. So the decision to remove what isn’t is a simple choice. Yet being successful at removing it is a different story, which is why we must rely on the energy of the waning gibbous moon.

Review:

To understand this energy, let’s refer to the previous example I’ve been using for this cycle (previous lunar energy phases posts) of increasing water intake.

🌑Dark Moon:

    • My Inner Goddess guided me to take better care of my body.

🌙 New Moon:

    • Based on that guidance, I set an intention to improve my overall health.
    • Then created an action plan listing specific action steps to manifest that intention.
    • One of my action steps is to increase my daily water intake, so I’d plan to drink at least eight cups per day.

🌒 Waxing Crescent Moon:

    • My action plan moves forward as I begin to implement those specific action steps.
    • So, I start trying to drink those eight cups of water every day.

🌗 First Quarter Moon:

    • I take a realistic look at my progress. Have I been drinking those eight cups of water daily or struggling to get four?
    • By this time, the struggle is most likely still real. Why? Because even though my action plan was specific, it was not realistic for me. My ego was probably trying to step in and do the most (as usual).
    • Therefore, I use the day of the first quarter moon to make adjustments.
    • I scratch through my initial action step of drinking eight cups of water per day and change it to four.
    • Will I get four in now? I don’t know, but what I do know, it is a much better chance of me drinking four cups of water than eight.
    • While eight is optimal, four is better than zero. So there is no room for beating myself up.
    • I know that if I do not manifest this intention flawlessly this time around, I can revisit it the next cycle and so on until it is complete!

🌕 Full Moon:

  • Yay! It turns out I CAN drink at least four cups of water per day, and if I push myself, really seven or eight cups!
  • Since I know I can fit in seven or eight cups of water per day, what other liquids am I currently drinking?
  • Can I remove one glass of wine and replace it with one cup of water?
  • What about coffee, tea, soda, and other drinks?

🌖 Waning Gibbous Moon:

  • During the full moon, I started thinking about how I could manifest my intention easier by releasing.
  • Now, during the waning gibbous moon, it’s time for action! THAT is what this phase is, the action part.
  • However, the action part is not simple, which is why it is essential to rely on the energy of this phase. Use this energy to help remove anything that does not serve your higher good!

Waning means decreasing. So think about switching your mindset to this side of the moon’s phases as we let go, give back, and wind down.
