Elevate Your Evening Routine for Peaceful Dreams

Before sharing, allow me to explain part of my process first. I am at the beginning stages of my journey in becoming Divinely Elevated. Therefore, during my morning routine, I seek guidance for my day. One of the ways I ask for direction is by performing oracle card readings. In using these cards, so many unclear things in my life before suddenly started making sense.

Much like the moment you discover a piece of the puzzle you are currently trying to complete, and it finally fits. In using that analogy, my puzzle piece symbolizes balance. In a previous post, we discussed “5 Practical Ways to Elevate Your Morning Routine.” So in honoring the Spiritual Law of Polarity, we will discuss five of the best habits to practice for peaceful dreams. Now you can start elevating your evening routine as well.

1. Wind Down with Self-Care

When you begin your routine with a wind-down, it sets the tone for the rest of your evening. Unwinding from the stress of the day triggers your mind and body into relaxation mode. Relaxation is essential because both need a daily respite to replenish your energy systems. A great way to make this a mandatory habit is to establish an evening alarm. Determine what time you want to go to bed, then set your alarm for at least two hours prior.

Self-care should be a high priority of ways to elevate in general. You cannot serve from an empty vessel. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow.  You must take care of yourself first to maintain balanced energy. This balance enables you to give your energy to those in need without completely depleting your own. There is an abundance of self-care rituals you can explore. However, it all boils down to doing what makes you happy. One of the things I like to do for self-care is a detox bath with healing salts. The salts help remove toxins, and a tub of warm water is the perfect aid for relaxation.

RuPaul said it best. “If you can’t love yourself
How in the hell you gonna love somebody else?
Can I get an amen?”

2. Reflect on Your Day with Gratitude

I cannot stress enough the importance of gratitude and appreciating your blessings. Out of the five ways to elevate your evening routine, this is by far the most important. I start and end the day by giving gratitude because I realize my ego hinders elevation. Now, I acknowledge the only authentic path to Divine Elevation is with my Inner Goddess’s guidance. The feeling I get in knowing that I am never alone and always Divinely guided is incredible.

While I am soaking in my healing salts, I take the time to reflect on my day.

What did I learn today?
Who did I interact with today?
What messages did I receive today?
What positive outcomes did I have today?

These are just a few sample questions I use to check in with my Inner Goddess during reflection. Additionally, reflecting on any challenges from the day is a great way to transition into appreciating blessings. For instance, I might have encountered a difficult personality that day. Then, during reflection, I realize how blessed I am to have my husband’s and son’s incredible personalities in my life. Finally, I make a mental list of five blessings that I use in habit #5.

3. Relax Your Body

When you set the alarm to trigger relaxation mode, as mentioned before, your body plays a crucial role in winding down. During the day, your body is using physical energy to operate. To continue to function effectively, you must relax your body to prepare for your energy restoration.

I am not going to lie; I struggle with exercise. In my morning routine, I use stretching exercises to gently introduce movement until I am ready for more. Therefore, I’m easing into physical movement for my evening routine as well. A fantastic way to do this is by performing yoga poses right in bed! It is such an effective and gentle way to relax your body.

4. Affirmations

Two areas I struggle with the most on my journey are self-doubt and anxiety. Repeating positive affirmations is an excellent way to remind yourself of your genuine potential. I created some morning affirmations to start my day, which sets the tone for the rest of my day. Therefore, in honoring balance, I’ve also created evening affirmations.

Evening affirmations help your mind prepare for purposeful dreams. The universe utilizes all forms of energy to communicate with you. When you request guidance, you may receive answers through your dreams. So it is imperative to go to bed with positive intentions and without anxiety so that you can be receptive to Divine communication.

5. Relax Your Mind

You have finished winding down, reflecting, appreciating your blessings, relaxing your body, and preparing your mind. So now it is time to relax your mind for peaceful sleep to be receptive to Divine guidance.

You can relax your mind in many ways. Maybe you like listening to high-frequency music. You may want to take this time to balance your chakras or meditate. However, the best way to start anything that relaxes your mind is to focus on your natural breath. Doing so is especially helpful if you are new purposefully relaxing your mind. By focusing on your breath, your mind will naturally sync to the rhythm of your breath.

Remember #2? Another great idea is to thank Goddess for each of those five blessings silently. Do so repeatedly for every inhale/exhale cycle until you fall asleep. How awesome is that? You fall asleep literally counting your blessings!
