5 Practical Ways to Elevate Your Morning Routine

Want to learn how to improve your morning routine? Allow me to share what I’ve learned in my journey to spiritual enlightenment. I am learning how to choose to live my best life. Additionally, I am learning that choosing to have my best day starts with choosing to have my best morning. I have not chosen to live my best life lately, so to live Divinely Elevated, I have realized I must start making changes. Anything that does not serve my destiny must go to make room for Divine abundance. My current morning routine, if you can call it that, is not working. Therefore, with my Inner Goddess, I have created a few tips to elevate my daily morning routine.

1. Offer Gratitude

As a child, my mother would tell me stories of her interactions with her angels. Our minds are so open as children, so I was always fascinated to hear her speak of her angels. However, as I grew older and societal norms set in, I began moving away from believing in angels. To make matters worse, when my mom died, the anger stage of grief hit me hard. I definitely stopped believing in anything Divine at that point. In reflecting now though, wow, my anger stage of grief was lengthy! However, my mom was so patient in her approach and never gave up on me.

The first year after her death, I decided to begin celebrating a heavenly birthday with her each year as a way to try to move past my grief. The first couple of times I tried, I am not going to lie, it sucked! I was still very much in mourning and, in hindsight, probably deep into that previously mentioned long anger stage as well. I am sure that at the time, my sadness and grief overshadowed any joy and happiness I had before she died. So, it was not much of a “celebration”. However, again, my mom never gave up on me. 

2. Request Guidance

My Inner Goddess points out that it usually doesn’t turn out so good for me throughout my journey to enlightenment when I make decisions using my ego only. However, I know that when I live in alignment with my destiny, I can be unstoppable! What better way to improve your morning routine than to go directly to the source for guidance?

I plan to utilize several spiritual tools to request guidance from the universe. It just depends on how I am feeling that day. Sometimes I will pray, asking the universe to communicate with me by sending signals and messages. I will also use various cards and spreads, such as animal spirit guides, Goddess energy, crystal energy, and Reiki energy. As I shuffle the cards, I will ask what I need to know for this day.

3. Meditation

Meditation is one of the most traditional forms of grounding. As part of an elective class for my Post Graduate work, I took a Buddhist Meditation Course. Before the course, I did not know meditation or mindfulness exercises. During the course, I practiced meditating daily and also incorporated mindfulness exercises in my life. However, after completing the class, life happened, and for whatever reason (or excuse), I fell off the daily meditation and mindfulness wagon.

Mindfulness and meditation are so beneficial to elevating and finding your Buddha Nature. Therefore, I will re-introduce these practices into my morning routine daily and challenge you to do so as well. A great way to start is by solely focusing on your natural breath for one minute. Once you are comfortable, increase your meditation in one-minute intervals. For example, starting today, I will set a one-minute timer and breathe naturally. I will do that every day this week, and next week I will create a goal to focus on breathing for two minutes and so on until it comes naturally.

4. Physical Activity

I’m not going to lie; this will be the most challenging for me. However, to elevate, while taking care of my soul and mind, I must also take care of my body. So I need to start somewhere. I think I will ease into this with some powerful but gentle strength and balance exercises. Qigong or Tai Chi are both perfect for this. Both of these practices are awesome for gradually increasing agility as well as cognitive development.

5. Positive Affirmations

Finally, it is time to start my day!

  • I have offered gratitude to the Divine.
  • I have sought guidance through my soul.
  • I have paused to breathe.
  • I have energized my body.

Now it is time to program my mind to attract positive energy.

An easy way to program your mind to attract positive energy is by repeating affirmations. Affirmations are positive statements you tell yourself to remind you of your greatness.

Again, I have a challenge for you. Think of 10 positive observations about yourself and repeat them each a minimum of three times. The mind will believe what you tell it, so keep your communications positive for a positive day.
